Vista Lane in Spain- Anishee and Anuja visit

I know I have been a little delayed on updating but I have been extremely busy because school as finally started at the Council of International Educational Exchange (CIEE). Most of my classes are in Spanish which is definitely in interesting experience- taking management 3o2 in Spanish is quite confusing.

So I was lucky enough to have my sister visit for 2 weeks from Chicago. It has been pretty wild with her here. We got a hostel close to my school for both of us to stay at and toured Barcelona for 3 days. Some site we saw were the Sagrada Familia (big church designed by Gaudi), Mount Tibidabo, and Casa Batllo (another Gaudi creation). Anishee and I then jetted off to Madrid by RyanAir. After getting some attitude from the unhappy air hostess and being kicked out of the emergency exit seats, we landed in Madrid, giddy as ever. We enjoyed delicious Thai food our first night and hit the sac early because we had to catch an early bus to Toledo the next morning. Toledo (not the one in Ohio) is this gorgeous old city that has an interesting mix of Catholic, Jewish, and Muslim influence. The architecture dated back to the 9th and 10th centuries and has been transformed as the Catholics took over pretty much everything.

That night we were greeted by Anuja and her roommate in Italy, Jessica. The four of us had a night on the town and ended up going to 2 different bars and made many friends from Madrid, other Spanish cities, Chennai, and even Australia (cough cough).

The next morning, after some serious bumming, we decided to walk all around the city including Plaza Mayor and Plaza de Sol which are big semi-touristy areas where people just gather around on a sunny day and "chill" with a cafe, beer, or gelato!

After another night of craziness at a bar of which I can't remember the name, Anishee and I went to go see the El Prado which is a museum which houses over 7000 paintings. We saw about 40 before we decided we would rather go see the inside of the Ritz Carlton across the street.

PICTURES TO COME!
